Bell and Telus to Offer iPhone in Canada, Ends Rogers Exclusive Deal with Apple
Bell and Telus, two wireless carriers in Canada, both have reached agreements with Apple to carry the iPhone 3G and 3GS beginning in November. The announcements end the exclusive arrangement Rogers Wireless had to sell the iPhone in Canada.
With the deals in Canada and the recent increase in the number of wireless companies carrying the iPhone in the UK, AT&T’s exclusive iPhone deal with Apple in the US is increasingly looking like the exception rather than the rule.
Although there has been much speculation that Apple will end its exclusive arrangement with AT&T next year, and perhaps offer the iPhone through Verizon Wireless, Apple has yet to make any announcement to this effect.
