Steve, Back on the Job at Apple, Says CNBC
TUESDAY, JUNE 23RD, 2009 -- When Apple's press release yesterday had a quote from CEO Steve Jobs commenting enthusiastically about the number of iPhone 3GS's sold in the first three days of its release -- that would be one million -- the thought went through my head that perhaps the fine people in Apple PR had come up with those words to make it seem like the visionary leader was back at work when he was in fact still recuperating from the liver transplant we recently learned he had undergone a couple of months back.
CNBC Silicon Valley Bureau Chief Jim Goldman put those cynical thoughts to death in his TechCheck blog where he said employees at Apple's Cupertino campus had seen Jobs, in the flesh, reporting for work yesterday. But, added Goldman, Apple PR isn't confirming that Jobs has returned.
The next question is: did Jobs just stop in to give that quote for the iPhone press release or is he back for good? [PAB]
